New Skirts

I've been having lots of fun making skirts from super-stretchy fabrics. Here is a ruffled summer mini skirt with a big pink bow. I went shopping today for more fabric. Like I need more fabric.

The Sistine Chapel Gypsy Skirt

Mom and Jackie returned home yesterday. We had lots of fun. On Saturday they traveled to Tucson to visit my brother Brad, his wife, Heather and their daughter, Alex. I sent a skirt for Heather. I call it the Sistine Chapel skirt because of the images on the fabric. So.... in honor of the Cardinals who are meeting in their secret conclave today I'd like to present... The Sistine Chapel Gypsy Skirt! ...and doesn't it look great on Heather?

Ruffled Skirts for Little Girls

I've been working on some ruffled skirts for little girls. They have kind of a Lilly Pulitzer look - fresh and summery. I did a detachable flower pin with a rick rack bow on each. What do you think?

My Mom is Visiting!

My mom is visiting with her friend, Jackie. We are having lots of fun - mostly shopping! Jackie and mom have been friends since the 7th grade. Today we went to an antique mall and then to Anthropologie. I got some new dishtowels :) Anyone else as excited as I am about dishtowels? I got word from Sarah yesterday that all four of my dishtowel messenger bags sold!

Summer Rose Ruffled Mini

Here is another new summer skirt design. The fabric is a rose-print stretchy crushed velvet and the rose is made from a necktie....of course! Hope you like it!

Hot Pink And Purple Necktie Handbag

Here is the handbag that I made from the leftover bits of the Pink and Purple Necktie Skirt. I lined it in hot pink velveteen and added a giant rhinestone brooch. Is this taking things a little too far?

Necktie Backpack

As promised - here is the necktie backpack. It wasn't as much work as I remembered - in fact it was fun! The best part is that it uses up a lot of leftover pieces that I tend to accumulate. What do you think?
